Beware of the Asian Tiger - May 1Jeanine Dorothy, state entomologist, Mosquito Control Section, will speak at the May 1 legislative session. Ms. Dorothy will advise residents on the steps to follow to eliminate the Asian Tiger mosquito from our yards and neighborhoods. (See insert in newsletter).
Public Hearing - May 8A public hearing will be held on Monday, May 8 at 8 p.m. regarding annexation of twelve commercial properties in the 5500 block of Kenilworth Avenue.
Annual Spring Clean-Up - May 18Clean-up your porches, yards, sheds and garages and put your discards at the curb on Thursday, May 18. On this date, under an annual County program, fees at the landfill will be waived for the town. NOTE: you may put tires at the curb on this day only.
A Hunt for Treasure - May 21The piece of china or crystal vase you inherited from your grandmother, the chair you bought at a yard sale, a piece of old jewelry, or a treasured old doll can be brought to Riversdale on Sunday, May 21. For a fee of $5 per item or three for $10 an appraiser from Adam Weschler & Sons will give you information and a general value on your treasured possessions. This fundraiser, sponsored by the Riversdale Historical Society, is for the benefit of Riversdale. For more information call 301/927-8230. Please, only items one person can carry.
