We have a new principal, who was raised in Riverdale, and a newly sanctioned PTA. Over the past month, we have been working with representatives from the State of Maryland PTA and the Prince George's County Council of PTAs. The result is an operational PTA which will be able to take advantage of the many resources available through the national, state, and local associations. My goal, as president of this PTA, is to ensure that we stay on track in order to pursue these four main objectives: To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship. To raise the standards of home life. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
