The arrival of the Asian Tiger mosquito in Maryland has made a serious impact on outdoor activities during warm weather months. This mosquito is a daytime biter and it propagates in even the smallest amount of standing water. The Maryland Department of Agriculture, Mosquito Control Section, will sponsor a work shop in January 2001 to educate residents and public service employees on ways to combat this insect.
