Riverdale Park Day enjoyed beautiful weather and provided family fun to about 750 residents. The mobile train must have circled the mansion 100 times--the ponies and the petting zoo were popular--the music had a lot of people tapping their feet and moving to its rhythm and a good time was had by all!

A lot of hours were spent in preparation for the day and more time and effort were spent on the day to make it come together. Thanks are due to the Recreation Board: Tracey Toscano, Chair, and members Susan Hines, Paulette Donaldson and Christy Davila. Another basket of thanks is due to employees of the Public Works Department--they were responsible for the repaired bikes offered in a free raffle and they certainly kept the grounds clean and pleasant. Police Department officers were on hand to fingerprint children and the Department distributed safety helmets to the winners of the bicycles. The Fire Department displayed its equipment, checked car seats for residents and gave out more than a hundred smoke detectors.

Many good people worked together on Riverdale Park Day and their efforts made a day of memories possible for many families in our community. We offer a loud and resounding "thanks" to all of them.
